Best Credit Card Offers for Existing Cardholders

Do you ever feel left out as an existing credit cardholder when you try to sign up for new cards, only to realize that all the attractive gifts are reserved for new-to-bank customers? It seems unfair, doesn’t it? Well, in today’s post, I’ll be sharing some credit cards that still offer fantastic rewards for existing cardholders. If you have better offers or tips that I might have missed, feel free to join our 16,000-member Telegram group at HoneyMoneySG, where we share strategies to optimize your credit card rewards.

1. DBS yuu Card: $60 Cashback

The first card on our list is the DBS yuu Card, which offers up to $60 for existing customers. The requirement? Simply meet the minimum spend criteria, similar to new-to-bank customers, and you’ll be eligible for the reward. This offer is valid even if you hold other DBS credit cards. The DBS yuu Card is a solid choice, and it even made it into my top five credit cards for 2024.

2. DBS Takashimaya American Express Card: $150 Cashback

Next up is another card from DBS: the DBS Takashimaya American Express Card. This card is somewhat under the radar, but it’s currently offering $150 cashback for existing customers who spend a minimum of $250 at Takashimaya.

To qualify, you need to apply for the card by 31st August 2024, and complete the transaction within the first month of card approval. This offer is available as long as you haven’t canceled any DBS Takashimaya principal credit card within the last 12 months.

3. HSBC Live Plus or Advance Credit Card: $50 Cashback

For HSBC cardholders, you can still get rewards with either the HSBC Live Plus or Advance Credit Card. By hitting a minimum spend of $500, you can earn $50 cashback, even as an existing customer.

The HSBC Live Plus Card, in particular, has quickly become one of my favorites, offering 5% cashback on dining, shopping, petrol, and entertainment. From now until 31st December 2024, you can even enjoy an increased 8% cashback on dining, shopping, and entertainment. However, you need to meet the quarterly spend requirement of $600 per month to maximize this offer.

4. Citi Prestige: 50,000 Miles

If you’re looking for miles instead of cashback, the Citi Prestige card has you covered. Until 30th September 2024, even existing Citi cardholders who have not held a Citi Prestige card in the past 12 months can earn 125,000 ThankYou Points (equivalent to 50,000 miles) by paying the $545 annual fee and spending $2,000 within two months of card approval.

The Citi Prestige card is packed with benefits, including a complimentary fourth night free at select hotels, unlimited airport lounge access with Priority Pass, and 2 miles per dollar on overseas transactions. It’s a great card for frequent travelers.

5. DBS Vantage Card: 40,000 Miles

Lastly, the DBS Vantage Card is a hybrid card offering either miles or cashback, though most users prefer to accumulate miles. Existing customers can earn up to 40,000 miles by paying the $594.50 annual fee and spending $4,000 within 30 days of card approval.

The card comes with perks like Accor Plus membership, which includes a complimentary night stay at Accor properties worldwide, and 10 free Priority Pass lounge visits. The base earning rate is 1.5 miles per dollar for local spend and 2.2 miles per dollar for overseas transactions.

Final Thoughts

Of the five cards discussed, I hold all of them except for Citi Prestige, as it doesn’t quite fit my current lifestyle. However, it may be perfect for you. When considering credit card strategies, always prioritize your personal lifestyle needs over the card’s rewards. Don’t overspend or upgrade your lifestyle unnecessarily just to meet credit card spend requirements.
